[Appreciation] This painting typifies Bada Shanren’s work. He learned techniques of eagle painting from Lin Liang, a painter in early Ming dynasty. While the succinct lines and liberal ink all showed that he had surpassed his teacher. Two eagles turned to each other, resting on dead wood and insensate stone with concise shape and natural ink. The two mighty eagles were thoroughly showed.
